PURPOSE: A field emission display device for driving a low voltage and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve an electronic density and a lift feature. CONSTITUTION: A cathode(12), a resistor layer(13), an insulating material layer(14), a gate(15), and a separation layer are formed sequentially on a substrate(11). The resistor layer(13) and the insulating material layer(14) are formed by a PECVD method. The insulating material layer(14) includes SiO2 insulating layer. The gate(15) is formed by Mo or Nb material. The separation layer is formed by Al material. A field emission cathode(17) is formed at an aperture(16) of the gate(15). A front end of the field emission cathode(17) has a wedge shape. The front end of the field emission cathode(17) is formed away from the aperture(16) of the gate(15) by a distance of about 1μm.
