PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device that automates convergence control so as to relieve a load of a photographer at photographing and to photograph a natural stereoscopic video image. SOLUTION: A viewer inputs a numeral P that is normalized by a view distance up to a display screen of a display device -from a mode changeover section operated by the viewer (S11). A parallax amount S (P) on the display screen is calculated from the numeral P and a human pupil distance IPD (S12). A convergence distance is calculated through a geometrical calculation using the obtained parallax amount S (P), a base length, a focal distance of a lens, an image side of an image pickup section (CCD), a screen size of the display screen, a detected object distance and a deviation of a position to detect the distance from an optical axis (S13). A mirror is driven until a mirror angle corresponding to the calculated convergence distance is obtained. |
