PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent missing of a picture due to a mount error of an original butt plate and forming of the original butt plate by obtaining read reference position data denoting a position of the original butt plate with respect to an imaging device and storing the read reference position data to an nonvolatile memory. SOLUTION: An original butt plate is mounted on an original platen through assembling with a precision within a permissible error decided in the design (A). A sky-shot is made, which opens an original platen cover, lights an original lighting lamp, forms an image of the original butt plate on a line CCD being an imaging device of a read means reading an original and allows the line CCD to scan the image (B). A quantity denoting a position of an edge of the original butt plate is obtained with respect to the line CCD in terms of number of pixels from the end (C). The obtained quantity is stored in a nonvolatile memory as data of a read reference position. The stored quantity is used for generating a effective area in image forming (D). |
