MANUFACTURING DEVICE AND MANUFACTURE OF COLOR SELECTION MECHANISM FOR CATHODE-RAY TUBE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent mask wrinkles by restraining the stress deflection of a lateral frame due to concentrated load in pressing the frame when a color selection mechanism is manufactured. SOLUTION: When a color selection mask is mounted to a nearly rectangular support frame comprising a pair of lateral frames and a pair of longitudinal frames, a press jig 13 for pressing the pair of lateral frames in a direction mutually closing them up is provided. Two pressed projections 14 are formed on the front part of the press jig 13. The respective pressed projections 14 abut on the lateral frames and have a structure separate from a jib body 15. The pressed projections 14 each are engaged with and supported by a recessed slot 18 and a pair of stop pieces 16 formed in the jig body 15 movably in a direction Z so that the pressed projections 14 can be moved in a frame bending direction substantially perpendicular to the frame pressing direction by the press jig 13.
