PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change the size of photographic paper according to the number of frames to be printed by providing a frame counting function counting the number of frames to be printed and a cutting size selecting function. SOLUTION: By operating the key of an input device 5, a controller 4 is switched to an index printing mode. An already developed film F is set at a negative mask unit 11 and the pictures of the respective frames are read by a scanner 1. Then, the number of frames of the pictures to be exposed by an exposure mechanism 3a is counted of the read pictures. When the number of frames is 18 to 24 sheets, for example, a corresponding printing form is selected out of the forms set in a printing form set mechanism 43 by the cutting size selecting function 45. Then, the respective pictures are printed on the photographic paper P with this selected form by an index printer 3c and cut by a cut device 3d.
