PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semitransmission type liquid crystal display device in which decrease in the contrast due to backward scattering in a reflection display mode can be eliminated. SOLUTION: This semitransmission type liquid crystal display device 16 is produced by forming a group of projections on a glass substrate 2, coating the projections with a semitransmitting film 4a and an alignment layer 5, forming a color filter 7, overcoat layer 8, transparent electrode 9 and alignment layer 10 on a glass substrate 6, disposing the both glass substrates 2, 6 facing each other through a liquid crystal 11, and further forming a first phase difference film 13, second phase difference film 14 and polarizing plate 15 on the outer face of the glass substrate 6. |
