PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate insertion work of permanent magnets into a laminated rotor core. SOLUTION: This rotor has a plurality of permanent magnet pieces 4 in seated successively into axial insertion holes 3 formed in a laminated rotor core 2, the magnet pieces 4 are put in a case made of a nonmagnetic material and integrated into a magnetic pole unit 11, and the magnetic pole unit 11 is inserted into the insertion hole 3. If the permanent magnets 4 are inserted individually, the tips of the sides of the permanent magnets 4 collide with stepped parts and their insertion is difficult, since stepped parts formed accompanying lamination of steel plates exist inside the insertion hole 3, work is facilitated by putting the permanent magnets 4 in the case 10 and performing insertion.
