PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flow rate detector which can measure flow rate with high accuracy and in which a flow rate sensor is arranged not to be damaged. SOLUTION: The flow rate detector comprises a casing 1 having a flow channel 5 and a sensor insertion hole penetrating the side wall of the channel 5, a flow rate sensor 18 fitted in the sensor insertion hole, and a sensor press plate 21 for securing the flow rate sensor 18 wherein the sensor insertion hole in the casing 1 has a stepwise stopping part for supporting the flow rate sensor 18. The flow rate sensor 18 has a jaw-like head matching to the stepwise stopping part, and a plurality of output terminals juxtaposed in a row while projecting to the upper surface at the jaw-like head and the sensor press plate 21 is fixed to cover only one side part of the row of projecting output terminals on the upper surface of the flow rate sensor 18.
