PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying method and apparatus for a printing process and a coating process of a film, wherein printing and coating of a film can be efficiently conducted and water-soluble printing-ink and coating agents can be used. SOLUTION: A drying zone 2 in which hot air is blown to the surface of a film 3 provided with printing or coating is provided with a cooling drum 6A for cooling the other surface of the film 3 than the surface imparted with coating or printing and provided with a cooling rotary guide for a cooling roll. In such an arrangement, hot air is blown to the surface of the film imparted with printing or coating while the other surface is cooled so as to dry the surface imparted with printing or coating.
