PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct color correction without being affected by a noise or a quantization error. SOLUTION: The digital color correction circuit is provided with a Y calculation circuit 10, color difference signal calculation circuits 12, 14, a C calculation circuit 16, aθcalculation circuit 18, a discrimination circuit 20, a LUT group 30, a LUT selection circuit 42, a correction method selection circuit 44 and an arithmetic circuit 46. Then the discrimination circuit 20 discriminates to which of a plurality of preset stages a luminance level Y, a chrominance level C and a hueθbelong, the discrimination circuit 40 discriminates whether or not color correction is applied, a corresponding LUT in the LUT group 30 is selected on the basis of a discrimination output, using the selected LUT to apply color correction to the color difference signals R-Y, B-Y, the correction method selection circuit 44 selects the correction method selection circuit 44 after the color correction or the correction method selection circuit 44 before the color correction, and the arithmetic circuit 46 calculates R, G, B, signals to obtain a color correction output. Since the digital system is adopted for the color correction, the digital color correction circuit applies the color correction to the color difference signals R-Y, B-Y without being affected by a noise or a quantization error.
