PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the surplus length processing structure of the optical fiber used in electronic equipment and the cartridge used in the surplus length processing structure by which the surplus length of the optical fiber is processed in good order and working such as a removal of the optical fiber is easily and surely executed. SOLUTION: Communication equipment 10 is composed of nearly a shelf 12 and a package 14. An optical fiber 16 is disposed in the rear surface 12a side of the shelf 12 by being drawn around toward the Z2 direction, is drawn in the rear surface of the cartridge 18 as the surplus length processing part provided in the diagonal upper direction of the rear surface 12a side of the shelf 12, further is drawn out of the upper surface of the cartridge 18 and is drawn into the internal part of a chamber 19 formed in the upper part of the shelf 12 from the rear surface 12a of the shelf 12 to be extendedly provided, and is connected to the optical plug 20 fixed to the forward position of the package 14.
