PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper money transport device which can be easily assem bled and also can significantly reduce its cost. SOLUTION: A drive device (motor) 34 is contained in a main body 11 and a holding tool 20 holds the motor 34. A cover (27) is prepared with a prescribed distance secured to the outer surface (20A) of the tool 20, and a paper money transport path 43 is formed between the surface (20A) of the tool 20 and the inner surface (27A) of the cover (27). In such a constitution, the paper money that is identified by a paper money identifying device is sent to a paper money transfer part (45A) of a paper money transport device (45) through the paper money transport path 43 by the driving of the motor 34.
