PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system, a data processor and the data control method, a printer and the data control method and a recording medium capable of simplifying the data management of the acquisition destination of font data and the font data. SOLUTION: The application program 302 of a client device 101 executes a variety of data processings. A printer driver 303 receives printing setting data and printing data from the application program 302 and converts the printing data to a form processable by this printer 102 corresponding to the printing setting data. The printer driver 303 downloads the font data by http from a WWW server program 300 corresponding to the presence/absence of a font data instruction. Then, font printing data are prepared from the printing data by using the downloaded font data in the client device 101 and the font printing data are outputted to the locally connected printer 102.
