A typical Warren truss may have a thick metal top compression rod (14) connected to two bottom tension members (10,12) by thin wires or rods (16,18) bent into a sinusoidal shape and welded to the metal rods. In the modified version, a wooden beam is added just above the thick metal top compression rod, and the bracing rod may enter cutouts in this beam and be secured by nails.
|
