The alloy comprises TixElyMexAl1-(x+y+z). El = any two of B, Si and Ge. Me = Cr, Mn, Nb, Pd, Ta, W, Y, Zr. 0.46 <= x <= 0.54; 0.001 <= y <= 0.015 (if El=Si and Me=W; or El=Ge and Me=Cr, Ta, W), or 0 <= y <= 0.2 (if El=Ge and Me=Pd, Y, Zr), or 0.0001 <= y <= 0.01 (if El=B); 0.01 <= z <= 0.04 in which case Me is an element, or 0.01z <= 0.08 in which case Me is two or more elements; and 0.46 <= (x+y+z) <= 0.54.
