<p>The invention relates to pharmaceutical formulations, doses and regimens comprising a glucocorticosteroid and an antifungal azole, which are adapted for administration to the GI mucosal tissue of a patient. The doses and regimens comprise 0.01 to 150 mg of the antifungal azole. The formulation comprises the glucocorticosteroid and antifungal azole in a ratio of 10000:1 to 1:1500 (glucocorticosteroid: antifungal azole). Formulations, doses and regimens of the present invention address the specific problem of increasing the bioavailability of glucocorticosteroids in the GI mucosa of a mammalian patient (e.g. a human), while minimising the potential for liver damage in the patient.</p> |
