PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a surface-mount component mounting machine and its method for easily and securely recognizing the image of different kinds of and different forms of electronic components and printed circuit boards and for improving the mounting position accuracy of the electronic component. SOLUTION: Those with a light source having a plurality of colors or lighting means 13 and 17 made of a white light source apply light to either of or both of electronic components (b) and a printed circuit board (c), at the same time image information is obtained by image pickup means 14 and 18 consisting of a CCD color camera, and only the image information of color tone required for image processing is taken out by a wavelength control circuit 15, thus recognizing the image of the electronic components (b) and the printed circuit board (c). |
