PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make easily performable authentication without such troublesome operation that a password is inputted by operating operation keys by providing an authenticating means, etc., which performs authentication according to information for authentication read out of an external storage means through a connecting means and a converted password. SOLUTION: A user inserts a memory card 30 into a memory card drive part 10D, and inserts and extracts the memory card 30 corresponding to the password registered in the memory card. Through this inserting/extracting operation, the password registered in the memory card 30 is presented and the password is sent to a personal computer 10 and compared with the password read out of the memory card 30 to perform an authenticating process. Thus, the operation for inserting the memory card 30 into the memory card drive part 10D by the user is regarded as input operation for the password to eliminate the need to use an input means such as a keyboard, thereby facilitating authentication. |
