The press has a lubricating system with drive to drive a flywheel (42) on a non-rotating hollow shaft (40), and a first bronze bush (44) connected to the press and held on a drive shaft (46). A coupling/brake unit (38) applies a selective brake momentum to the drive shaft resp. couples the flywheel to the drive shaft. The unit is for active connection to the press, and is open to receive a circulating lubricant flow, formed by e.g. the lubricant for the press. A second bronze bush (48) is connected to the press to bear the drive shaft.
