The line (5) section (52) with drillings admission end (51) is moved past all cells (41), to remove drillings from them in succession. Preferred Features: The admission end is connected to the drive shaft (2) and turns with it, to move past all the cells. It is connected to the offtake line (5) through a rotary joint (53). The cell wall is connected to the drilling shield and has a central opening for the drive shaft and/or cutter disc. This forms a passage for the drilling fluid, air or water, which leaves ultimately via the cells and line. The (above ground) pumping system has a suction unit removing drillings. It also has a pressure unit and line to supply drilling fluid. The pump system has a feed pump for the fluid, assisted by a further pump in the same line. Pressure sensors spaced along the line, signal to a display unit, quickly indicating restrictions. Disc (3), excavation tool (31, 32) and offtake opening pass the drillings. High pressure nozzles (6) supply fluid to wet the drillings and to clean parts of the unit.
