A gig takes a maximum of two wheelchairs and their user-drivers and consists of a frame (1) and supported plate (11) for the wheelchairs. The two individually suspended and sprung wheels (3) of the gig on the shaft (2) lie completely below the support plate (11) which in turn stands horizontal when the horse has been harnessed. Shaft and frame are co-planar and parallel and the wheelchair loading surfaces (12) lie in tandem or parallel in the direction of travel. The wheels (3) are hung on rocker arms (31) fitted with a pivot point (32) close to the shaft and the rockers are carried relative the frame by means of compression springs and vibration dampers (34). A leveller is provided between the two wheels and the rockers (31) are joined crossways at their end furthest from the pivot point (32) by a flexible element (81). Each wheel has its own drum brake (35), using wheels from motorcycle production line.
