ARTICLE HAVING UNEVEN SURFACE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

A method for producing an article having a slightly uneven surface which comprises preparing a liquid for forming a film by subjecting a solution containing a specific silane compound (A) having a non-hydrolyzable organic group and a hydrolyzable group, another specific silane compound (B) having a hydrolyzable group and a catalyst to hydrolysis and dehydrating condensation, placing the film-forming liquid in the form of a film between a substrate and a mold, and heating them, to thereby produce an article comprising the substrate and, covering the substrate, a film having an uneven surface in a shape obtained by reversing the shape of the surface of the above mold, wherein the liquid for forming a film contains the above silane compounds (A) and (B) in amounts of 0.5 to 40 wt.% relative to that of (A) in the above solution and of 0.5 to 60 wt.% relative to that of (B) in the above solution, respectively, and a condensate formed by the above hydrolysis and dehydrating condensation has a molecular weight of 300 to 1,900. The method can be employed for producing an article which has a slightly uneven surface and is covered with a film being free from the occurrence of cracking and separation from a substrate even in the case of a considerably thick film.
