The invention relates to a narrow-band optical interference filter for a wavelength ( lambda 0) comprising a plurality of dielectric layers, whereby said dielectric layers alternately have a high (nH) and a low refractive index (nL) and the optical layer thickness of the dielectric layers amounts to lambda /4 or lambda /2 or an integral multiple thereof. The invention is characterized in that at least one lambda /4 or lambda /2 layer of the layer system has a refractive index differing from the high (nH) or low refractive index (nL) of the other layers in the layer system so that the formation of "ripples" in the transmission band of the filter is reduced.
