Water jet cutting assembly for sugar beet works at high speed on an assembly subject to minimum mechanical wear

In a process and assembly to slice sugar beet, the high speed cutting action is effected by a rotating high pressure water jet cutting system (5). The beet feed and removal arrangement prevents double cuts in the same section of beet and prepares slices of uniform thickness. The individual sugar beets are presented singly by a conveyer (1) or feed unit (11) at a cutting bench (4) where they are exposed to the water jet knife. The slices are released to a funnel (8).
