Solid body phantom has a cylindrical body (1) with an opening (3, 4) for mounting of the radiation source towards the edge of the cylinder region. A radiation detector (14) is arranged close to the surface of the cylinder jacket (9). The opening (3, 4) is to contain a gamma or beta brachytherapy source with a wall distance of less than 2 mm, ideally less than 1 mm to the cylinder jacket.
