the gripper has a base jaw (1) detachably mounted on a chain link (16) of the chain magazine and connected to the tension jaw (2) by an elbow lever joint where one lever (6) is mounted at one end by a bolt (7) for swivel movement on the base jaw and is connected at its other end by a bolt (9) to a spring bolt (5) which passes through a further bolt (4) connected to the base jaw. A pre-tensioned plate spring parcel (12) is fitted between the spring bolt and bolt whilst a fork (8) of an operating rod (11) is mounted on the other bolt (9). The fastening rod is guided in a cross bore of a guide bolt (10) on the base jaw and is connected to a work cylinder attached on the outside. The lift movement of the operating rod (11) is restricted against an adjustable stop. The tension jaw swivels against a stop face (14) on the base jaw.
