ATOPY GENE

A domain containing HTm4 gene existing in the 11th chromosome q13.1 domain, which has been reported as closely correlating to atopic diseases, is amplified by PCR from a human genomic library constructed by transferring human genome fragments into a bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC). From the thus amplified fragment, an atopy gene genetically causative of allergic diseases is identified and isolated. This gene is usable in, for example detecting atopy.
