A financial transaction system (20) responds to requests from clients (users) (10). A quoting processor (21) processes client requests, and generates quotes automatically for requests with parameters within a given range. For requests which the system will accept but which it is not set up to process itself, i.e. outside the given parameter range but within an extended parameter range, the quoting processor (21) automatically passes them on to further organisations (11) or (12) (mother organisations). Requests outside the extended parameter range are either refused or passed to a dealer intervention unit (22) to be dealt with by an operator.
