<p>The electrical connection has an insulating sleeve (28) enclosing a contact (16) made up of three parts: a rigid central block (18) with ball joints at either end attaching two contact jaws (20,22). The jaws slide over two rods (34,36) that pass through the bushings (26,28) at the end of each cell. The two ends of the sleeve (24) enclosing the contact jaws are tapered, fitting closely inside a complementary taper (28) in the recess formed in the bushings (26,28). The supple insulating material forming the tapered ends is reinforced where the jaws make contact by a ring of harder material, radial adjustment of the jaws or tubes moulded into the sleeve.</p> |
