SNEPa, SNEPb or SNEPc polypeptides, the corresponding polynucleotide sequences and methods for producing such polypeptides by recombinant techniques are disclosed. Also disclosed are methods for utilizing SNEPa, SNEPb or SNEPc polypeptides and polynucleotides in the design of protocols for the treatment of diseases, to mimic or antagonize effect of endogenous neurotransmitters and hormones, or to diagnose or treat any disorder related to abnormal expression of these proteins, among others and diagnostic assays for such conditions.
