The suction control valve (18) has a valve piston (30) with a contoured surface (34) for engaging aerodynamic flow through the valve. The contoured surface is not symmetrical about a vertical axis. Slots (24,32) are provided in the housing (12) and piston for engaging the valve spring (36) to prevent rotation of the piston so that the non symmetry of the contoured piston surface does not affect fluid flow during operation. |
