The invented adhesively bonded friction element comprises a carrier (100) with flat fundamental part (12) with pit-like recesses (14) and a friction lining (16) formed by a fundamental material of thermoplastic resin containing reinforcing fibers and materials modifying friction, rolled and hardened to solid form held-down with respect to the carrier (100) flat fundamental part (12) by intermediate hardened thermosetting resin (20) of adhesive. The adhesive (20 resin is present as a thin film that is adapted to surface profile of the flat fundamental part (12) and to each recess (14) thereof. The lining (16) has interface with the film having the same range as the lining (16) main surface (17) and is tightly adapted to the surface profile of the flat fundamental part (12) due to hardening of the resinous fundamental material of the lining (16) element in situ on the flat fundamental part (12) during radial definition thereof. The production process is characterized in that the plastic lining (16) friction element half-finished product is rolled together with fibrous materials oriented between the main surfaces (17, 18) for defining the predetermined rolling thickness and density. Subsequently the layer of the adhesive resin (20) and the plastic lining (16) friction element half-finished product are put in sandwich manner between the flat fundamental part (12) and a bearing surface communicating therewith, whereby smaller surfaces (19) are uncovered. During hardening the system is subjected to a defined pressure acting on the lining element through the mediation of the main surfaces (17, 18) in order to define density of the hardened lining as well as position of the second main surface (18) with respect to the carrier (100) flat fundamental part (12). In the present invention there is also claimed an apparatus containing means for making the above-described manufacturing process. |
