PURPOSE: An antenna installing method of a satellite broadcasting receiver is provided to facilitating installment of a satellite antenna by representing an AGC(automatic gain control) value in log scale by using log function relation between the AGC value and signal magnitude. CONSTITUTION: In an antenna installing method, it is determined whether a high frequency signal from a satellite is locked by an antenna at a first step(S1). At step S2, AGC values are read from a register if the high frequency signal is unlocked. At a third step(S3), a first to a N-th AGC values are summed and a second to a N+1-th AGC values are summed. At a fourth step S4, the average values of the sums are converted to log scale values. At a fifth step S5, the log scale values are displayed as a user's desired signal level with an OSD(on screen display). At a sixth step(S6), if the high frequency signal is locked, Eb/No(energy bit/noise) values are read from an error counter. At a seventh step(S7), a first to a N-th Eb/No values are summed and a second to a N+1-th are summed. At an eighth step(S8), the sums are averaged. At a ninth step(S9), the average values are displayed as the user's desired signal level with the OSD.
