PURPOSE: A cable TV tuner having a function of improving intermediate frequency characteristic is provided to trap a radio-frequency signal affecting the intermediate frequency signal at an input port to remove the radio-frequency signal, thereby producing high quality images. CONSTITUTION: A cable TV tuner having a function of improving intermediate frequency characteristic includes an input tuning unit for tuning a cable broadcasting signal inputted through a cable, and the first frequency converter(120) for frequency-converting the tuned signal. The cable TV tuner further has a trap circuit between the input tuning unit and the first frequency converter. The trap circuit forms a trap pointer in a frequency upper than and adjacent to the first intermediate frequency.
