PRODUCTION OF GLYCERYL ETHER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of easily producing, in high distillation yield, a high-purity glyceryl ether with slight impurities. SOLUTION: This method comprises the following steps: (the first step) reacting a glycidyl ether with water in the presence of a fatty acid potassium salt; and (the second step) distilling the thus obtained glyceryl ether-containing liquid to separate it into a distilled component comprising the glyceryl ether and a distillation residue containing the fatty acid potassium salt; wherein the fatty acid potassium salt used in the first step is desirably to have 6-14 carbon atoms.
