PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a pellet of a composition of a saponified substance of an ethylene-vinyl acetate-based copolymer, slightly causing a fisheye and having excellent moldability. SOLUTION: In bringing a pellet of a saponified substance of an ethylene- vinyl acetate copolymer into contact with water or an aqueous solution and then heating and drying the pellet, the water content of the pellet of the saponified substance of the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer before heating and drying is adjusted to 40-70 wt.%.
