PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pillar structure and its manufacturing method for a vehicle excellent in an energy absorbing property when an occupant is struck against a pillar, and forming no projection having high rigidity in the vehicle, while holding rigidity at the time of the collision of a vehicle. SOLUTION: In pillar structure for a vehicle equipped with a hollow pillar main body 4 comprized by joining gutterlike pillar inner and outer panels 2 and 3 into a sandwich state, and a pipelike pillar reinforcing member 19 housed in the main body 4, the member 19 is weldedly fixed 20 to the inner surface from the outer surface side of the panel 2.
