PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily compare brightness, chroma, or hue by arranging color samples differing brightness or hue at plural stages to longitudinal directions on each surface of a triangular prism in turn or in combination and by arranging different chroma at the plural stages. SOLUTION: A dental shade system 1 is constituted of a slender triangular prism 10 having right and left handles 14, and arranging positions for color samples 50 are provided on each surface of three surfaces 11, 12, 13 of the triangular prism 10. A basic constitution of a color sample arrangement is constituted by arranging the color samples 50 combining, for example, five stages of brightness arranged in order of brightness, for example three stages of chroma, and for example three stages of hue. The first surface 11 having weak chroma is approached to a comparative patient's tooth, the color samples coincided with the brightness of the natural tooth are selected, the color samples coincided with the chroma of the natural tooth are selected, the color sample coincided with the color of the natural tooth is selected.
