PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a metallic product excellent in antibacterial properties. SOLUTION: A metallic product is immersed into an aq.soln. contg. 0.0001 to 1.0 mol/l silver ions. As the aq.soln., an aq.soln. of nitric acid contg. 1 to 200 g/l nitric acid or an alkali aq.soln. of pH>=8.0 is preferable. As the metallic product, a stainless steel product worked into a final shape, particularly, the one particularly contg. 0.001 to 0.10 wt.% Ag or moreover contg. 0.001 to 0.30 wt.% V and worked into a final shape is preferable.
