EQUIPMENT AND METHOD FOR REPAIRING COKE OVEN BACKSTAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide equipment and method for repairing the backstay of a coke oven which can effect repairs quickly, surely, and smoothly compared to the conventional repairs. SOLUTION: Coke oven backstay exchange equipment is used in repairing a columnar backstay supporting the oven wall of a coke oven and has a major truck 13 which travels on the platform at the front side or back side of the oven, a minor truck 14 which is placed on the major truck and is movable crosswise in the direction of the oven top, a frame 17 which is installed to stand on the minor truck, and a fixing member 16 which is fixed on the frame and holds and sets the backstay.
