PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite sintered body of porous calcium phosphate compound particles and metal, having excellent biocompatibility and high strength and free from the falling-off of the porous calcium phosphate compound particles from the surface, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The composite sintered body of porous calcium phosphate compound particulate/metal, in which a part of porous calcium phosphate compound particles are exposed on the surface, can be obtained by the steps of: preparing a porous calcium phosphate compound powder by presintering a calcium phosphate compound powder at a temperature not lower than an initial sintering temperature; preparing powder to be sintered from porous calcium phosphate compound powder and metal powder in such a way that the porous calcium phosphate compound powder exists at least in a part of the surface layer; and applying pressure-assisted sintering to the powder to be sintered. |
