PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving device for a fishing rod which enables various operations to easily be carried out in fishing. SOLUTION: An arm 19 holding a fishing rod-receiving stand 18 and a turning plate 20 are attached to the central shaft 17 of a base 1 in such a way that they can each turn singly. The turning plate 20 is energized toward its rest position by springs 41 and 49. The peripheral edge of the plate 20 has plural engagement grooves 58a, 58b, 58c and 58f. The arm 19 has a coupling piece 56, moves in an interlocked state with the plate 20 when the coupling piece 56 engages the engagement groove and freely turns when the coupling piece 56 is released from the engagement groove.
