PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange plural desks side by side without inserting clearances as for the desk having a book shelf fixed (connected) to its top plate with a metal fitting. SOLUTION: A notch 18 is formed at the rear part of a top plate 2 and a metal fitting 11 is arranged at the place of this notch 18 to prevent the fitting 1 from projecting from the side end surface of the plate 2. An engaging hole 14 to be fitted into an engaging hole 14 bored at the side plate 4 of a book shelf 3 is bored at the upper part of the fitting 11, and a horizontal part 13 having a clamping screw 16 screwed is formed at the lower end of the fitting 11.
