PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antibacterial agent composition improved in retentivity to mucous membranes which has been insufficient until now. SOLUTION: This antibacterial agent composition excellent in its retentivity to mucous membranes features comprising an antibacterial agent and clay minerals having a specific surface area of >=50 m3/g and an average particle diameter of <=10μm. The antibacterial agent composition is excellent in retentivity of an antibacterial agent to mucous membranes. The antibacterial agent is retained on mucous membranes for a long time by applying the antibacterial agent composition to mucous membranes such as oral cavity, eye, nose and throat in a routine procedure and a usual dosage level suitable for each dosage form and enables its function to sufficiently be exhibited.
