<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent secondary troubles by ensuring that a pedestrian rests on a hood in the event of collision between the vehicle and the pedestrian and to enhance the assembling property of a vehicle front body structure by integrating an extension member with a bumper face. SOLUTION: This front body structure of a vehicle has a bumper 9 below the front of a forwardly extending hood 1, the bumper including a bumper face 3 and bumper reinforcement 7 which extends in the cross direction of the vehicle at the rear of the bumper face. An extension member 13 extending in the cross direction of the vehicle and being integral with the bumper face is provided in the lower portion of the bumper face and a receiving member 12 projecting in opposite directions from a vehicle body structure member 10 and having lower yield strength than the bumper reinforcement is provided behind the extension member 13. A predetermined gap 14 is provided between the front end of the receiving member and the back face of the extension member and the position where the extension member abuts the receiving member is set to a position in front of the bumper reinforcement.</p> |
