SEAT RECLINING DEVICE WITH TABLE MECHANISM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obviate the occurrence of a casual accident of the collision o the head of a forwardly inclining seat back against an operator when the operator manipulates the seat back of the seat reclining device to a table state. SOLUTION: A turning plate 37 is pivotally supported at a center hinge 2 of a base plate 1. The turning plate 37 is connected to a manipulation lever 12 by a link 39. A slide plate 30 having a locking pin 35 slidingly contactable with an arcuate part 36 of the turning plate 37 at its bottom end is upwardly energized by a return spring 34 and is supported at a lower arm 3. The top end of the slide plate 30 is provided with a locking pin 29 and the pin 29 is brought into abutment on the arcuate part 27 of the upper arm 5. An inwardly curving locking recessed part 28 is formed in the arcuate part 27 and the locking pin 29 is engaged and disengaged with and from the locking recessed part 28.
