摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a basic amorphous refractory which is useful as the lining material of various furnaces for iron manufacture and steel manufacture and consists mainly of a magnesia.calcia clinker that has excellent digestion resistance, excellent slag erosion inhibition property and excellent spalling resistance. SOLUTION: This basic amorphous refractory contains magnesia clinker and sintered or electrofused magnesia.calcia clinker as main raw materials. The magnesia.calcia clinker has a chemical component composition comprising 50 to 80 wt.% of MgO, 5 to 20 wt.% of CaO, and 8 to 20 wt.% of Fe2O3 wherein the total amount of the components is >=90 wt.%, contains granules having granule diameters of >=0.2 mm in an amount of 25 to 55 wt.%, has a MgO and CaO total content of >=75 wt.%, and has a weight increase rate of <=0.5 wt.% which shows the digestion resistance of the magnesia.calcia clinker. Thereby, the obtained amorphous refractory does not generate expansion and cracks due to digestion even when water is used, has the same quality as conventional basic bricks, and has excellent corrosion resistance, slag permeation resistance and spalling resistance.
