摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a follow-up control in a stop state and to arbitrarily set/change target speed without a sense of incompatibility for releasing a follow-up control by providing a control standby mode, an automatic stop mode, a follow-up mode and a control release mode and shifting the mode between each mode when a prescribed condition is formed. SOLUTION: When a main switch is turned on, a mode becomes a control standby mode WM and the mode is shifted to an automatic stop mode SM and a follow-up mode FM according to a condition as to whether a vehicle is being stopped or not from this state. According to an inter-vehicle distance or speed, the mode is shifted between the automatic stop mode SM and the follow-up mode FM. By a transmission range change, a braking operation by a driver and the like, the mode is shifted to the control release mode RM from the automatic stop mode SM and the follow-up mode FM. From the control release mode RM, the mode is shifted from the automatic stop mode SM or the follow-up mode FM by a will of the driver. By an accelerating/decelerating operation, the mode is shifted to a control standby mode WM and a control suspension state is made by turning off the main switch.
