PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely use a treating tool in the prescribed projecting length without making any adjustment even if an endoscope is replaced by arranging a treating tool inserting passage total length adjusting means for assembling and fixing the treating tool by finely adjusting a distance between a treating tool inserting port and a treating tool projecting port to the prescribed length. SOLUTION: When manufacturing an endoscope, a distance between a treating tool inserting port 31 and a treating tool projecting port of many endoscopes being the same kind of machines can be wholly manufactured in the same length by fastening a fixing screw 34 in a finely adjusted state so that a distance between the treating tool inserting port 31 and the treating tool projecting port accurately becomes the prescribed length. In the manufacturing process, setting work can be easily performed by inserting a wire rod for showing the reference length into a treating tool inserting channel. Thus, a treating tool can be safely used without making any adjustment even if a plurality of endoscopes being the same kind of machines are replaced and used when using the treating tool.
