PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid troubles in the event of errors in winding of a seatbelt, in a seatbelt device in which the seatbelt is wound and extended by an electric motor. SOLUTION: When this device detects that a seatbelt cannot be wound nor unwound by a motor (S24, S32), it actuates the belt locking mechanism of a motor-driven winding device for the seat belt so as to disable the extension of the belt (S34). This prevents the belt from being extended or slackened by the idling of the motor. |
